The focus of the day will be on mental health, well-being, equity, and inclusivity to foster a supportive and inclusive school environment.
The day will equip educators with the skills to recognize and address mental health issues among students. Staff will learn to create a classroom atmosphere that promotes emotional well-being, resilience, and healthy communication. This includes strategies for inclusive teaching practices, culturally responsive pedagogy, and creating a safe space for all students to express themselves. By focusing on these areas, staff are better prepared to support the diverse needs of their students, fostering a more positive, equitable, and inclusive school community. This holistic approach not only benefits students but also enhances the overall school climate, making it a more welcoming and supportive place for everyone.
In addition, the day will also include AODA: Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act training and the Climate survey will be reviewed.
