Wellness Wednesday: Life is Good

The storms of life will come AND life can still be good!  Taking a moment to acknowledge challenges helps us to recognize that storms are not our whole life, rather a piece of our story, a moment that will end. We can adjust our sails, rejoice in all things, and notice that life is good.

Try this:

Challenges exist in our lives. This activity helps us acknowledge the challenge, then reframe it by bringing awareness to the positive things in our lives too.

As a class, group or family:

  1. The adult begins.
  1. Roll or pass a squishy ball to each other.
  1. Name one thing that irritates or challenges you.
  1. Then roll or pass back the ball and say, ‘and life can still be good’. Or you can say, ‘and still I am blessed because God loves me’, ‘and I am loved’, ‘and I am lovable’.
  1. Play until everyone has had at least one turn.

Ask yourself, there is no wrong answer:

How do you feel about your challenge(s) now? How do things feel different?

Connecting to our faith:

Our Catholic faith teaches us we can always seek comfort and guidance from God. His promise of the resurrection, of hope and of new beginnings, can remind us that even during a storm, life is good.

Come Gracious Spirit, Heavenly Dove,
With light and comfort from above.
Be Thou our Guardian, Thou our Guide,
Stay close by every child's side. Amen! – Catholic.org
